BioWare is gearing up to release Anthem in early 2019, but that doesn't mean they've forgotten about their other classic properties. In fact, they might be gearing up to reveal something next month regarding that of Dragon Age.

In this month's November blog post over on BioWare's website, Casey Hudson, the studio's GM, gave an update about what is currently transpiring at the studio. While most of the post focused on the current status of Anthem and the milemarker that the team has now reached with the project, Hudson also said that they're still focused on their other franchises like Mass EffectDragon Age, and Star Wars: The Old Republic.

Speaking specifically on Dragon Age, Hudson said that there will be news regarding this franchise sooner than you might think. His full statement said that they've been working on some "secret Dragon Age stuff" that they will talk more about over the next month.

His full statement from the post said the following:

"If you’ve been following these blogs, or myself and Mark Darrah on Twitter, you know we’re also working on some secret Dragon Age stuff.  Dragon Age is an incredibly important franchise in our studio, and we’re excited to continue its legacy.  Look for more on this in the coming month (though I won’t tell you where to look…)"

As for just what this Dragon Age news could be, well, it's hard to say. BioWare in the past has been candid about the fact that they're still actively working on the IP, but it just doesn't seem like the time to reveal anything major like a new game in the franchise. If I were a betting man, I'd say whatever this Dragon Age related announcement ends up becoming will be much more minor. It'd be best if you probably kept your expectations in check.

Hudson is already confirmed to appear next week at The Game Awards, so maybe this potential reveal will take place in Los Angeles alongside the newest Anthem trailer. Regardless of when this news is revealed though, I'm just happy to know that something Dragon Age related is on the horizon.
