BioWare’s Jade Empire Coming Soon to iOS and Mac

Right before the studio erupted with its work on Mass Effect and Dragon Age, the 2005 release Jade Empire became one of the studio’s big titles as an Xbox exclusive (and later on PC), and those that missed out on the original will soon have the chance to experience it on the small screen in the near future.

In a report from Touch Arcade, publisher and developer Aspyr Media revealed a new Mac and iOS port of Jade Empire that will be releasing in the near future, with the new release based on the “Special Edition” version that was released in 2007 for PC and that features enhanced graphics options.

Originally, the mobile version of the game was intended to release today (as seen in a trailer from IGN), though Aspyr Media confirmed with Touch Arcade that the title seems to have been delayed at the last minute, with no timeframe specified at this time for its new release date.

Jade Empire originally released for Xbox in 2005 as a console exclusive, with later editions of the game having been released for PC and digitally for Xbox 360 through “Xbox Originals.”
