Today Bandai Namco made a surprise announcement, releasing a teaser trailer for Black Clover Project Knights, which appears to be still a working title.

The game will come to Japan, Asia and the west in 2018, and a full reveal is supposed to come on December 18th.

For now, pretty much the only information that we have is that the platforms will be PS4 and PC, with the PC release being on steam and other digital platforms.

The game title is one more manga/anime project by Bandai Namco, based on the fantasy-adventure manga by Yuuki Tabata that has been serialized on Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump starting in 2015, and is still ongoing. The manga just sparked an anime series that began airing in Japan on October 3rd, this year.

The story is about a boy named Asta, who is the only one born without magical power in a world in which absolutely everyone has the natural skill to perform magical skills. He is abandoned as a kid alongside Yuno, that on the other hand has immense magical powers. When they turn fifteen, Yuno is given an ancient grimoire to become a Magic Knight. Yet, when a thief steals it, Asta summons his own grimoire containing the rare Anti Magic ability, giving him the power to cancel all magic, which combined with the fact that he actually had to train physically abilities gives him a very unique skillset.

Both boys train as Magic Knights, becoming rivals as they aspire to the title of Wizard King.

You can check out the trailer below. This isn't the only shonen manga and anime-inspired game announced recently by Bandai Namco. Yesterday we got the reveal of My Hero Academia: One's Justice.
