The previous two chapters of Black Clover saw the return of Asta as a hero, proving why they still need him to win this war against the greatest villain, Lucius. After saving Ichika from the Paladin's attack and demonstrating how strong he has become, now our young boy is up for a fight against Sister Lily. However, he doesn't intend to kill her or hurt her. Asta has pledged to free Sister Lily from Lucius' control and bring his old friend back.
Black Clover Chapter 349 Spoilers
The upcoming chapter is titled "Asta VS. Sister Lily," and the editor's note on the first page says, "Asta has completed his training and mastered 'Zetten' Now Paladin-turned Sister Lily is in front of him." The chapter starts with Paladin Heath having a flashback of the time when Asta defeated him for the first time. Now he looks surprised to see that the young boy is standing again in his way. But Yosuga claims to fight Heath instead, stating that they should not interrupt Asta and Sister Lily's encounter.
Sister Lily is surprised to see Asta, and she asks why he is still alive. Asta replies that the people of Hino Country saved him, and he also wonders if it was Sister Lily herself who sent him here. But Sister Lily denies his assumptions and states that she actually intended to kill him. But Asta denies her statements by saying that he knows Sister Lily would never do such a thing, even if she was manipulated. She claims to kill him again and says that she isn't manipulated either. After that, she uses her "Fist of Love" spell, and Asta gets a flashback of the time when she used to unleash the same spell in his childhood.
Lily is continuously thinking of using multiple spells like "Enforced Spatial Travel," but it's impossible to use it unless Asta is immobile. It hints that she actually teleported him previously, and this spell was unnamed at that time. Now she thinks of using "Sacred Mana Domination," but she can't use this spell either because of the anti-magic. She kindly asks Asta why he didn't die previously and finally uses a combination of Water and Spatial Magic called "Sachiel's Flash."
Sister Lily is fighting Asta and continuously shouting that he must die for the world's sake. But Asta denies that he won't let her kill him, and she, in turn, says that she doesn't want to kill him either. It is then explained that "Lucius is right" is engraved in the souls of the Paladins, which results in them showing loyalty towards Lucius. But Sister Lily is still herself inside, but Lucius has deep control over her mind and soul.
Now with a deep hatred in his heart toward Lucius, Asta resolves never to forget him for what he did to Sister Lily. He then attacks Lily, but not to hurt her physically, but to remove the Paladiness inside her, and hopes to bring her back to her former self.
