Black Desert Online Lowers Cash Shop Prices for Launch Following Community Outcry
I’m sure that I’m not the only one who is excited for the impending release of Black Desert Online on March 3rd. Yet, the price of certain items on the cash shop has become a hot button issue among the community since the reveal of the feature in the latest closed beta.
That’s not too surprising, considering that full costume sets (including weapons) costed $32 (or €32 if you’re in Europe). Even considering that the developers create some really amazing costumes, that seemed overpriced to many.
Daum Games Europe has heard the complaints, and announced today on the official forums that full costume sets will have their price dropped to 2,900 pearls, which are equivalent to $/€ 29.
On top of that, an opening sale will be held from March 3rd to March 14th, with costume sets further discounted to 2,500 pearls (by now you probably do how to do the conversion), and all pets will be discounted by 20%.
Whether this will be enough to placate the community or not, future will tell, but something is always better than nothing.
In other news, we also learned that if you have your closed beta client already installed, you don’t need a new download. You can just update the client with a patch that will be available a few hours before the servers open for early access on the 28th, weighing about 700 megabytes.
