Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s Blackout Mode Gets Secret New Weapon
Earlier today, developer Treyarch surprised fans by adding a fan-favorite Zombies weapon from Black Ops 2 into Black Ops 3's Blackout mode.
Not even a week into Operation Grand Heist’s season and we already have a new piece of mystery content in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4′s Blackout mode. Today, Treyarch revealed that a secret piece of fan-favorite weaponry, the Ray Gun Mark II, was added to the game’s Ghost Town section and it might be a bit on the overpowered side.
The Ray Gun Mark II, a follow-up to the classic Ray Gun, is a three-shot burst weapon that fires an energy projectile, originally introduced in Black Ops 2’s Buried (which Ghost Town is partially based on). While I’m not entirely sure of the exact damage output in the Blackout mode, if it’s anything like its predecessor, it’ll kill in one or two hits.
Unfortunately, the weapon won’t just spawn on the floor in Ghost Town. In traditional Zombies fashion, you’ll have to complete an easter egg to get it done. To get it, you’ll need to throw a Combat Axe at a dartboard in the underground saloon. Then proceed to go to the jail cell and hold ‘X’ at the question mark. You’ll then be granted with a free Ray Gun Mark II. While it might be hard to do in the heat of battle, it’s nice to see Treyarch honor the other modes in the game with this addition.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC. If you want to pick up the game on Amazon, all you have to do is click here.
