Sand Sailor Studios and Square Enix Collective revealed today that their puzzle platformer Black the Fall is coming to Nintendo Switch. It will launch in the United States, Canada, and Mexico later this week on December 14, but will not launch in Europe until "early January".

For those of you who don't know, Black the Fall is an atmospheric puzzle platformer that follows the player as they try to escape an oppressive Communist regime. Along the way, players will have to make their way through many different puzzles and platforming challenges, including but not limited to things like laser puzzles and controlling other characters with a special device.

The game launched on PC, PS4, and Xbox One back in July, and I reviewed it for DualShockers. While it is a fun, intriguing, and engaging experience in its own right, I felt like it didn't add too much to the genre as a whole. Even though I have a few problems with the game, I am still happy to see the title make its way to Nintendo's console/handheld hybrid, as its shorter nature is fitting for the system. It may be worth checking out on the console if you are a fan of titles like Limbo or Inside.

You can check out the Nintendo Switch announcement trailer below, which features a Joy-Con grip slowly being constructed by the player. Black the Fall is currently available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and will release on Nintendo Switch in North America on December 14.
