After wasting a hundred minutes of my life watching a boring keynote and waiting for relevant news that never came, we’re back to actual gaming news, with NCSoft finally announcing the closed beta of its wuxia MMORPG Blade & Soul.

Blade & Soul is known among the MMORPG community for its fast action and for the sexy character design and artwork by Korean illustrator Hyung-Tae Kim.

The closed beta will start on October 30th for the English language client, and on November 27th for German and French.  Here’s the full schedule:

  • Weekend 1:  Oct 30–Nov 2 [English only]
  • Weekend 2:  Nov 13–16 [English only]
  • Weekend 3:  Nov 24–30 [English, French, German]
  • Weekend 4:  Dec 11–14 [English, French, German]
  • Weekend 5:  Dec 18–21 [English, French, German]

Beta weekends will run from Friday at 10am PDT to Monday at 10pm PDT.

You can get a guaranteed spot in the beta by purchasing a founder’s pack, or you can try your luck by signing up here.

Why Ratchet & Clank is the Most Important PS5 Game

Blade & Soul will be released exclusively for PC in the first quarter of 2016, a whopping four years after its release in Korea. Better late than never.

Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality) and MMORPGs are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
