It’s been a long time coming, with fans absolutely baffled by an announcement made years ago, and then complete silence since December 2012, but NCSoft has finally announced that the martial arts MMORPG Blade & Soul will launch in the west this summer.

NCSoft West Senior Vice President of Publishing John Burns accompanied the press release with a comment.

“Blade & Soul is one of the most anticipated online games by Western consumers. This is a tremendous opportunity to bring one of the most successful and fun online games in Asia to our Western audience this winter and we can’t wait to deliver this extraordinary and distinct gaming experience to millions of new players across North America and Europe.”

Blade & Soul is developed by NCSoft’s Team Bloodlust, and features the artwork of the acclaimed Korean illustrator Hyung-Tae Kim. It was first launched in Korea in June 2012.

Below you can see a few screenshots and a trailer, while more news will come tomorrow at 10 AM PDT during an announcement livestream on Twitch.

Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality) and MMORPGs are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
