Nicalis appeared on the Twitch channel Sunday evening to announce they will be bringing the Studio Saizensen developed 2D fighter Blade Strangers to PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC in the west.

Blade Strangers features a wide variety of characters from games such as Cave Story, Code of Princess, and Umihara Kawase.

In addition to characters, Blade Strangers has a story mode that follows a character through a series of fights, ultimately ending with a unique conclusion, similar to what you would find in a typical arcade fighter.

Furthermore, there will be other modes available, such as, Verses Mode, Mission Mode, Training Mode, and Online Mode.

During the stream, Blade Strangers was compared to games like Smash Bros, with the speed of Guilty Gear.

Lastly, more characters are set to be revealed in the days to come, but the publisher did add that they plan to support the game with updates post release.
