Bleach New Chapter: Release Date, Time, Spoilers and Where to Read

Author of Bleach, Tite Kubo has made headlines as of later after announcing news that he would be commemorating the manga's 20th anniversary by releasing a 73-page chapter. Now fans are wondering when it releases as well as where they can read it.

Author of Bleach, Tite Kubo has made headlines as of later after announcing the news that he would be commemorating the manga’s 20th anniversary by releasing a 73-page chapter. Now fans are wondering when it releases as well as where they can read it.

Bleach is one of the most commercially successful series across the world. The series sits within the top 100 manga of all time and has a rating of 7.81 on My Anime List. So when fans found out the creator was bringing the manga a new chapter 5 years after it ended in 2016, they were overjoyed.

The upcoming chapter is a one-shot as a side story, as opposed to a continuation of the last story but as it is relevant to the story. Therefore, for the purpose of this article, we will call it ‘Chapter 687’. Please note: This article may contain spoilers!

Bleach Chapter 687: Release time and date revealed

Bleach’s 20th Anniversary Special Chapter (687) is scheduled to be released at midnight JST on Tuesday 10th August 2021. The release date has been confirmed by Tite on his official Twitter account along with a cover, which can be seen here.

This is based on the time that Shonen regularly releases their content. Should this be correct, it is expected to release around the world at the following times:

  • Pacific time: 10 AM.
  • Central time: 12 PM.
  • Eastern time: 1 PM.
  • British time: 6 PM.
  • Central Eastern time: 7 PM.
  • India time: 10:30 PM.

Where to read the one-shot manga

The upcoming one-shot manga will be released in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine in a combined 36th/37th Issue with a colour page included.

The magazine can be found on some retailers websites as well as in-store in select stores. Shonen’s content has also been moved onto its parent company, Viz’s website. Therefore, the one-shot, like the rest of the manga, is expected to be available on there.

To read Shonen Jump’s content, fans will need to pay a subscription fee of $1.99USD/£1.44GBP a month.

Bleach’s upcoming chapter spoilers

A tagline taken from the magazine teases a story by saying “Ichigo was invited to Soul Society for a certain ceremony but!”. This is all of the information out there at this time, leaving fans to speculate where the chapters could be taken. Especially after the manga’s ending that saw Orihime and Ichigo and Rukia and Renji solidify their respective relationships.

At the time of writing, there are no spoilers circulating. However, we expect new information to leak 2-3 days before the one-shot releases. Therefore, please check back with us for updates.
