Bleeding Edge – Ninja Theory’s New 4v4 Online Melee Brawler – Officially Revealed at Xbox Conference

Bleeding Edge combines the art style of Borderlands with the modes of For Honor in a bombastic collision of melee entertainment.

The trailer for Ninja Theory’s newest title, Bleeding Edge, leaked online yesterday. Even in that blurry video with no sound, the game looked like an interesting new 4v4 online melee combat game. Now that we’ve gotten a proper look at it, I’m only more excited. Check out the official trailer below.

Bleeding Edge looks a bit like the Borderlands art style crossed with the game modes in For Honor. Much like For Honor,  you’ll be engaging in small scale skirmishes with your team of four. However, Bleeding Edge looks much more bombastic than the Ubisoft property.

The game will include numerous different characters for you to play as. Each character has their own unique visual flair, which makes them immediately recognizable in combat. It’s hard to miss a large woman becoming a motorcycle in the middle of your fist fight, after all.

We’ll have to wait for a deeper gameplay dive, but what the team did show looks incredibly stylish. On the game’s official site, you can get a better look at each of the characters and some of their abilities. Each character comes with three basic abilities, three specials, and a choice of two supers. The site also says you’ll be able to give each character different cybernetic mods that allow you to customize each fighter to your playstyle. All in all, it’s an intriguing project and one I’m anxious to learn more about.

You won’t have to wait long to try the game out, as a technical alpha is coming June 27. When the game does officially launch, it will be coming Xbox Game Pass.
