Blizzard Will Honor Robin Williams as a Non-Playable Character in World of Warcraft

The death of Robin Williams has affect many, including those in the gaming community. As a self-professed long time gamer, he has made appearance in promos for The Legend of Zelda, Microsoft, discussed his love of Call of Duty and even named his daughter Zelda.

Now, thanks to a petition on, Robin Williams will appear in Blizzard’s World of Warcraft. Williams will be added into the game as a non-playable character.

Petition organizer Jacob Holgate wrote,

Because of his presence within our community, we the players of World of Warcraft are asking Blizzard to kindly create [a non-player character] within the game that memorializes the actor/comedian.

When asked about William’s appearance, World of Warcraft technical game designer Chadd Nervig repeosnded, “Yes. We’re taking care of it.”
