Today, developer Plethora Project and publisher Devolver Digital released a new trailer for Block’hood — which notably was a nomination at The Game Awards 2016 for the category of “Games for Impact.”
The new trailer is just any ol’ trailer though, it’s specifically for the game’s latest update — that released yesterday — titled the Populate Update.
Most notably, the new update brings a new feature called “inhabitants demands”, as well as new content such as a dynamic event system for weather and state effects, and biomes with unique flora and fauna. You can check out the full list of content and fixes coming below:
-Dynamic event system for weather and state effects
-Inhabitants desires; Likes and dislikes
-Blocks available to build helper – UI
-Biomes with unique flora and fauna
-Over 60 Inhabitants implemented
-Load game fix (bug fix)
-Delete agents fix (bug fix)
-Shortcut: “B” – recenter camera
and many more bug fixes…
Don’t know a single thing about Block’hood? No problem here’s an official overview from Devolver Digital itself:
Block’hood is a neighborhood-building simulator that celebrates the diversity and experimentation of cities and the unique ecosystems within them. Budding city planners will have access to 90+ building blocks to arrange and combine and to create unique neighborhoods and discover the implications of their designs. The game will embark on a story of ecology and understanding as additional resources are always needed to unlock new blocks, configurations, and combinations to create more prosperous neighborhoods. Throughout the design process, players will need to avoid the decay of their city blocks by making sure each unit doesn’t run out of resources and become a strain on the complimentary units around them.
Block’hood released onto PC via Steam Early Access back on March 10th of this year. It is currently available there for $9.99 USD.
