Sony Trademarks “Bloodborne;” Unannounced Game Incoming?

on April 29, 2014 3:05 PM

Sony Computer Entertainment recently filed for the registration of a trademark for the word “Bloodborne” with the US Patent and Trademark Office.

At the moment there is no information on what it could be. All we know is that it’s a game, as indicated by the class 9 issued for the trademark, which is related to video games.

It’s worth mentioning that “Bloodborne” was the name of particularly challenging trophy in Resistance 3, achieved for killing three enemies simultaneously by using a single mutated body.

Of course that doesn’t necessarily mean that this trademark is related to the Resistance franchise, but it is the only case in which the name was used by Sony in a gaming context.
