Bloodborne’s Challenging Demo on PS4 Cleared by Only 20 People at PAX, About 40 at Tokyo Game Show

Bloodborne‘s showfloor demo was a very harsh challenge, and especially the boss at the end really put players to the test due to its jerky and unpredictable attacks.

During a stage event held on Sunday, Producer Masaaki Yamagiwa and Marketer Yasuhiro Kitao had a chat about the results achieved by those that tried the demo, and they are, perhaps unsurprisingly, evidence that it was indeed a big hurdle.

At PAX Prime 3,500 people tried the demo, and only 20 managed to kill the Cleric Beast at the end. Moving forward to Tokyo Game Show, things went a little better, with 1,250 attempts across the four days and about 40 victories.

As I mentioned when I posted my video, journalists and industry professionals that had exclusive access during the first two days did abysmally, with only one managing to kill the Cleric Beast.

Unfortunately that one wasn’t me, as I did get to the final boss, but didn’t stop to grab enough potions for healing along the way. The result is that I got killed before I could drop under 80% of its life bar. It was exhilarating.

I won’t even pull the “jet lag” excuse. I was weak and the demo was just that hard. Delightfully so.
