Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Preorders Are Now Live

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is coming in June. Preorders for the game have opened today. If you know this Metroidvania is for you, now might be the time to jump in for a slight discount on PC and PS4.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has announced via Twitter that preorders for the game have gone live. The upcoming game from famed Castlevania master Koji Igarashi hearkens back to the days of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. This throwback is something fans have been clamoring for. Give the new preorder trailer a look below.

Bloodstained follows the exploits of the orphan Miriam as she fights back against the demonic hordes that have been summoned by the corrupt members of the alchemist guild. Players will engage in classic Metroidvania-style gameplay that’s presented in the gorgeous 2.5D art style.

On the game’s official YouTube channel, they’ve revealed a few details surrounding preorders. Everyone who gets in early on Steam and GOG will get the game at a 10% discount. PS+ owners can also get the same discount, while everyone who preorders on PS4 will get an exclusive dynamic theme. That isn’t all though.

The YouTube channel also details some of the free content updates coming to the game after release. The team plans to add both local and online multiplayer to the game, along with a number of new modes. These will include things like a roguelike mode, speedrun mode, boss rush mode, and a new nightmare difficulty. All in all, the team is promising “almost a dozen extra game modes”.

That’s quite a bit of game for a $40 price tag. That said, the game was wildly successful on Twitter and has one of the bigger names in gaming behind it. So, the fact they’ve put together something like this is no surprise. Hopefully the team can fully deliver on what looks like an attractive package.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox on June 18. The Nintendo Switch launch will follow soon after on June 25.
