Already a phenomenal success, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has now surpassed $2 million in funding. With 28 more days to go, that number can only go higher. After meeting the goal of $500,000 in the first day, Koji Igarashi added new stretch goals when all had been reached, and then again when those were reached. Now with $2 million in funding, a Boss Rush mode will be included. At $2.25 million a Retro Level will be added to the complete title.

Koji Igarashi is most known for his work on the Castlevania series including: Rondo of Blood, Symphony of the Night, Castlevania Chronicles, Harmony of Despair, and more. He left Konami in 2014 to create his own studio, and while he has found publishers to support his newest project, he needed to show them that there was a market for the Castlevania/Metroid genre. With this Kickstarter, he has gone above and beyond proving there is still a place for that genre in gaming.
