While Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night launched last week on Xbox One, PS4, and PC, the game didn’t finally hit Nintendo Switch until today. Unfortunately, for those who held out to play on the handheld-console hybrid, it seems like this is the worst version of the title currently available due to a lower resolution and framerate that it boasts.

As soon as the Switch version went live this morning, comparison videos showing off how the Switch iteration of the Igavania title fared compared to its counterparts started popping up. Within moments, it’s easy to tell how lacking the Switch version is when looking at other platforms side-by-side.

This graphics comparison video from Direct-Feed Games has been making the rounds and shows you what I mean:

Even though the Switch version of Bloodstained as it currently stands leaves something to be desired, it seems like 505 Games is taking the early criticism to heart and is vowing to make fixes. In a thread released on the official Bloodstained Twitter account this afternoon, it was said that changes will indeed be coming.

“We have been listening to the feedback regarding Switch performance. Our goal is for everyone, regardless of platform, to be able to enjoy the game and have it run smoothly,” the tweet made clear. “We want to live up to your, and our, expectations.”

Why Ratchet & Clank is the Most Important PS5 Game

Continuing on, the statement added that multiple patches for the Switch iteration are set to be landing in the future. These patches will be pushed out in piecemeal fashion as 505 Games doesn’t want fans to have to wait for one large patch in order for noticeable adjustments to take shape. “We thank you for your patience and apologize for the inconvenience,” the messaged ended.

While it’s surely a bummer that those looking to Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night on Switch will have a to wait a bit to get new updates that will improve the game, at least critically, Bloodstained has turned out quite well.
