The first episode of the Blue Period is almost close to its international release on Netflix. And if you're wondering when you'll get to watch episode 1 of the anime series, here's everything you need to know.

Blue Period is an upcoming Japanese anime series based on a manga written and illustrated by Tsubasa Yamaguchi. Seven Arcs announced the anime adaptation earlier this year in January, and it made an advanced streaming debut on Netflix Japan on September 25th, 2021. However, the original air date of episode 1 on the Japanese late-night TV anime block on October 22nd.

Now, international fans familiar with the Blue Period manga are eagerly awaiting the release of episode 1 outside of Japan.

What's The Plot of Blue Period Anime?

Blue Period follows the story of Yatora Yaguchi, a popular student who, despite having everything, feels nothing but emptiness inside of him. However, looking at a painting made him realize his love for art. He puts every emotion in him to excel at painting and get selected in Tokyo University of the Arts.

When writing this post, Blue Period is set to premiere with the release of Episode 1 on Saturday, October 9th, 2021.

The showrunners confirmed that Netflix would stream the anime for the international audience. However, unlike its other original shows, the streaming platform will release Blue Period episodes weekly. So, it's best to take a subscription if you don't have to already.

Also, Netflix has acquired the rights to stream Blue Period, so it's unlikely that you'll see the anime appearing on other platforms such as Crunchyroll and Funimation.
