PC Online RPG Blue Protocol Releases Worldwide After March 2021, Console Ports and Anime Adaptation Teased
Bandai Namco Online is hiring a Localization Director for anime online RPG Blue Protocol, and revealed new info via the job's description.
Blue Protocol, the online co-op anime PC action RPG by Bandai Namco, received a new job listing stating a worldwide release is coming (Thanks, Renka schedule). For the worldwide release, Bandai Namco is currently looking for a Localization Director. This follows a similar job listing months ago which already hinted at a global release, alongside next-gen PS5 and Xbox Series X releases as well. This new job listing also states Bandai Namco is considering porting Blue Protocol to consoles.
The staff, during one of the past streams, had already hinted at a global release.
According to the job’s description, Bandai Namco aims to release Blue Protocol in the next fiscal year. So it won’t release before March 31, 2021. The game will, needless to say, first come to Japan, and then be released worldwide.
Another very intriguing point is how Bandai Namco states it aims to develop Blue Protocol into a Media Mix IP. Media Mix is the Japanese business term for Transmedia, designing IPs which will mix various adaptations together. Good examples are Galaxy Fraulein Yuna, Sakura Taisen, and Galaxy Angel. Or to take more mainstream examples, everything Level-5 makes: Ni No Kuni, Inazuma Eleven, Yo-kai Watch, etc. In other words, once Blue Protocol launches, anime, manga, novels, stage plays, or spinoff games could launch as well.
Moreover, we learned via the job offer that there are currently over 130 people on the Blue Protocol development team at Bandai Namco Online.
