Blue Reflection Launches in the West With $79.99 Season Pass DLC and Additional Costumes

Koei Tecmo launched the Gust developed magical girl RPG Blue Reflection today for PlayStation 4 and PC, and September 29 in Europe.

The publisher also launched the game with a pretty hefty season pass DLC set at $79.99 on top of the game’s $59.99 price tag. This season pass will include all of the costume DLC as it’s released in the west.

The first batch of costumes is the “Sailor Swimsuit” set for all the 12 main characters of the game. You can also get a pack of three costumes for $5.99, but I should add that they’ve strategically placed one of the three main characters, Hinako, Yuzu, and Lime, across separate DLC. These are the characters that you will be seeing most of throughout the game.

High priced DLC is nothing new to fans of Koei Tecmo titles, with the most recent batch of DLC costumes for Dead or Alive 5: Last Round launched its seventh season pass for $75.99. However, some gamers might feel the need to see their favorite characters in new threads from time to time.

This costume DLC is purely cosmetic and doesn’t give the upper hand during any of the game’s other systems. Also, there is a tab for “Special Event” listed in the Season Pass DLC which could hint at the crossover costumes between Blue Reflection and Final Fantasy XV. It’s also noted that all the costumes will be distributed by the end of November 2017. Update: Reader BlueFireDC let us know that this Special Event could also be the story event where the girls go out to a resort, which it most likely is as it shares the same name.

Blue Reflection’s gameplay focuses on the relationship between the characters. The more Hinako spends time with her friends, the stronger their Bond becomes. This is an important feature for the game’s battle system because it also strengthens the support Hinako gets from them.
