Last month Bluepoint Games launched the PS4 remake of Shadow of the Colossus to much praise from both fans and critics alike. In fact, it was such a fantastic remake that I called it one of the best ever made.

With Shadow of the Colossus shipped and finished, it became time for Bluepoint to turn the page and begin focusing on their next project. While the developer might be synonymous with remakes and remasters, there's no doubt that there's enough talent on the team that they could create their own original game if they so desired. However, it doesn't seem that they'll be going in this direction.

In a conversation with Digital Foundry, Bluepoint's president Marco Thrush was asked if the new art team members that the studio had hired for Shadow of the Colossus would be used to help create an original game next. Thrush responded with the following statement:

"Well, we could but we're doing another remake. This project served us as a great point of growing the art team to the point where we can take on a full triple-A game major scope of art content. So now our next step is, let's improve the art pipeline, let's improve the engine, let's improve workflow for artists, let's grow on the art side some more to handle our next project because it's a bit bigger. And our next focus is, all right, let's work on design and add new stuff to get to the next remake, because now that can be our sole focus of making sure that's where we put the time and everybody else, they're already at a level where we can perform."

Finding out that Bluepoint is again working on another remake of a past project isn't all that shocking but it's definitely intriguing. It's especially interesting to hear that the project will be even bigger than Shadow of the Colossus. As Bluepoint has proven time and time again though, if you want any studio to remake a past title, they're the go-to team to do it.

What do you think that this next remake from Bluepoint could be? Give us your best hopes and guesses down in the comments.
