Bluepoint and EA Are Working on PS5 Games
Bluepoint Games, the studio behind the Shadow of the Colossus HD remake, is developing a "big game" for PS5.
So you probably heard the news by now. Today on October 8, Sony decided to officially announce PlayStation 5 with a holidays 2020 release range. While we didn’t get to see the PS5 itself yet, nor even a logo, multiple new details were shared through Wired’s report. Most notably, Bluepoint Games and EA officially confirmed they’ve got their hands on PS5 dev kits and are developing PS5 games as we speak.
Wired reported that Bluepoint is currently working on a big PS5 game. Citing Bluepoint’s president Marco Thrush: “We’re working on a big one right now. I’ll let you figure out the rest”. Bluepoint is the studio behind the recent Shadow of the Colossus HD Remake on PS4.
As for EA, chief studio officer Laura Miele spoke to Wired about how they’re seeing “the GPU be able to power machine learning for all sorts of really interesting advancements in the gameplay and other tools.” EA having dev kits is nothing surprising. They’re probably already working on the next NHL, Fifa, and tons of other yearly sports games I personally won’t be playing as I don’t have the time anymore.
PS5 is launching in late 2020 in the holiday season. The tech demos on the PS5 devkits have some neat things on it too including a port of Gran Turismo Sports.
