While we already know that Bluepoint Games is bringing back another previously released title to modern platforms. The studios' technical director Peter Dalton has given some insight into the scope and scale of the project at GDC this year.

“For Shadow of the Colossus we don't call it a remaster, we coin it a remake due to the complexity of the project,”  Dalton said. “And moving forward to our next project, we call it a re-envisioning given that it goes well beyond what we thought was possible on Shadow of the Colossus.”

Bluepoint Games is well regarded as one of the best developers when it comes to working with previously released IP. In particular, the studio has brought a whole slew of past PlayStation exclusives to the PS4. This includes Shadow of the Colossus, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, and Gravity Rush Remastered.

Many have speculated that the studios' next title will be a remake of the original FromSoftware PS3 exclusive Demon's Souls. Which if you don't know — was the game that kickstarted the souls-like genre. The PS3 servers for the game shut down some time ago, and fans of the genre have been clamoring for a remake or re-release of the game since it's only available on the PS3. FromSoftware president Hidetaka Miyazaki has expressed that he's not super interested in revisiting the game at this time, but is totally open to another studio doing so.

Since this is only speculation, it's important to note that Bluepoint Games is not owned by Sony meaning they could be doing something entirely different, despite their strong relationship with PlayStation titles. For now, we'll just have to wait and see what happens.
