Bobby Kotick Feels "Betrayed"

By Kenneth Richardson

September 27, 2010

The undisputed most hated man in video games today has reportedly been made to feel “betrayed” by former Infinity Ward top dogs Vince Zampella and Jason West. Never mind the fact that he himself have made gamers feel more than just betrayed but used.

Anyways, I’m sure you’ve heard the story by now. A dispute between the CEO and CTO and gaming giant Activision culminated in their firing and opening of a new studio, Respawn Entertainment. Kotick recently said:

“[their actions] shook my belief in two specific people. The frustrating thing about that is, the stuff that these guys did, I never would have expected them to do, We’re a public company, we’ve got ethics obligations, and the things they did were… I would go to jail if I did them.”

The unfortunate things about these supposed “actions” is that no one really knows what they were. Their termination was attributed to “insubordination” but I doubt that could land you in jail. The new Respawn game will be multiplatform and has no release date.
