While DayZ has grown exponentially popular in recent years, so too has it been the target of hackers and those trying to break in, according to recent news from developer Bohemia Interactive the game did come under the attack of sly hackers, but users of the game shouldn't have to worry.

Following rumors of the game being hacked due to an SQL injection, leading to the game's source code being extracted, Bohemia confirmed that its team is investigating the cause of the hack break-in, but assures players that user data was not present on any of the servers, and that development of the game will be unaffected. The developers at the studio confirmed in a statement:

"We have recently detected an attack on some of our servers, the precise nature and scope of this attack is currently being extensively investigated. There were no user data on any of the servers. Current development goals and schedules for our games will not be affected by this attack."
