Monster Hunter Stories 2 just launched its second large-scale update, adding new monsters including the Boltreaver Astalos, here are some tips and strategy to beat the monster, its elemental weakness, and how to get its Monstie Egg.

Boltreaver Astalos weakness, tips on how to beat
Boltreaver Astalos is a monster that first appeared in Monster Hunter XX (Generations Ultimate) in 2015. Back then, the monster was weak to ice, and it's the case as well in Stories 2. So be sure to prepare your equipment and party accordingly.
In her video, Monster Hunter Stories 2 YouTuber Chachacha explained how overall, you should be using Technique attacks thorough the fight, and switch to Power attacks when the Boltreaver Astalos enters rage mode. You should also be especially careful of its Lightning Pulse AoE attack. It'll hit all of your party for massive damage.
Where to get the Monstie Egg, stats as a Monstie
As a Monstie, the Boltreaver Astalos is a Technique Type, and its Ride Action is "Flying". You can only find its egg in the special co-op multiplayer expedition quest "Explore, Thunder Eggs (★8)".And you'll have to defeat the Boltreacer Astalos first, at the nest in the deepest part of the quest.
Once you've defeated it, you need to pick up its egg. It's a green egg with black patterns.

As a Monstie, the Boltreaver has an incredibly high Crit Rate. Its Max HP and Defense are very high as well. It also has very high attack and defense lightning attributes. it's definitely a nice Monstie.
