With only a month to go until its release, anticipation for the upcoming (and long-awaited) Borderlands 3 has only been building, and in just a few weeks we'll get to return to Pandora and bear more of Claptrap's jokes. However, it seems like there are still plenty of surprises in store for fans of the series, including a notable new addition to the game's voice cast.

Gearbox Software has officially confirmed that Ice-T, the famed rapper and musician, will be part of the voice cast for Borderlands 3. He will be playing the role of Balex, a mysterious figure that players meet who is forced to find refuge in a new physical body that is...honestly, I'd rather you just see for yourself what that means, exactly.

Ice-T's involvement with Borderlands 3 was first hinted at earlier this year by, well...Ice-T himself, in light of a "rumor" going around about him being in the game. After getting some hands-on time with the game itself, including a mission that features Ice-T as Balex, we definitely can confirm that he is putting his vocal talents to good use as what already seems like a particularly funny character, and we'll hopefully see (and hear) more from him in the full game next month.

Borderlands 3 will release for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on September 13, 2019, and you can pre-order the game now over on Amazon. The game will also be coming to Google Stadia when it releases later this year.
