It looks like Gearbox was a bit overzealous about putting up the launch trailer for Borderlands 3. Gearbox posted the trailer on Twitter earlier today before taking it down. The Borderlands developer wasn't quick enough to remove it though, and plenty of swift fans were able to nab it.

The trailer was officially posted just a few hours later. Tons of fans have gotten Guardians of the Galaxy vibes from it. You can be the judge of that yourself by watching it here.

I can definitely feel some of those vibes myself. From the music to the usage of bright neon colors and explosions, this new team of vault hunters could definitely pass for pseudo Guardians.

Villains and heroes both get some attention in the trailer. It opens with an introduction from the Calypso Twins--the psychotic live-streaming influencer-types you'll be up against. The Twins seem to have landed well with fans, as we've gotten some really impressive looking cosplay of the duo recently. Of course, we'd be remiss to ignore the great Psycho cosplay in that shoot.

We're then given looks at each new Vault Hunter: Moze the Gunner, Amara the Siren, FL4K the Beastmaster, and Zane the Operative. Each Vault Hunter has a unique skill set that should complement the others well. Those aren't the only Vault Hunters we'll see, however. Plenty of familiar faces from previous Borderlands entries will make an appearance.

Borderlands 3 releases for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on Sept. 13. It'll also be available as a launch game on Google Stadia when that drops in November this year. You can pre-order either console version on Amazon now.
