It's been a while since we've made a proper visit to Pandora. So, if your Borderlands memory is fuzzy and you can't remember all the majestic creatures that call that scrap heap of a planet home, then everyone's (least?) favorite robot has something you need to watch. That's right, Claptrap and his friend Steve have produced a visually stunning, emotionally moving short film about the planet they call home. Please give it a watch below. Don't forget your Kleenex.

In the fight for great trailers riffing on nature documentaries, this Borderlands 3 production takes second place to the absolutely perfect Moonlighter trailer from May. That said, this isn't a bad effort. Of course, your enjoyment of the trailer likely has a lot to do with how you feel about the humor of Borderlands.

As we get closer to the launch of Borderlands 3, I've been going back and playing BL2 quite a bit. The writing and dialogue from that 2012 game are a little hard to go back to. It feels like it's trying too hard and is often a bit cringeworthy. That's not a new take, but it is one that gives me pause when I think about BL3.

I'm very interested to see what direction the writing takes in the third game. For what it's worth, this short trailer comes off pretty well to me at least. Hopefully, they nail it and the game's great. Thankfully, we'll know for sure in a few months.

Borderlands 3 comes to Google Stadia, PC, PS4, and Xbox One on September 13.
