The official Borderlands 3 Twitter account gives us a taste of the upcoming title by introducing Promethea, the home and headquarters of the Atlas corporation. Brand new and gorgeous screenshots, as well as a brief teaser trailer, provide visuals to both the beauty and destruction that permeates the planet:

According to the full description on the official site:

Home to the Atlas corporation headquarters, Promethea is a metropolitan world covered in futuristic towers of chrome and glass. A recent siege by Maliwan has turned the urban environment into a warzone; their mechanized infantry patrol the streets, rodent/insect hybrids known as Ratches infest the sewers and back-alleys, and the Children of the Vault are seizing the opportunity to recruit displaced and disgruntled citizens. Atlas CEO Rhys Strongfork is getting desperate.

Gearbox revealed some scrapped boxart for the game during SDCC 2019. And ahead of its launch in September, Gearbox is letting players earn free loot in Borderlands 3 thanks to the Vault Insider Program. Recently, a new trailer for Borderlands 3 was released and it shows off the four new vault hunters in action. It’s also been confirmed that the game will support cross-play but not at launch.

Check out our DualShockers preview of the game to see how the title fares so far (it converted our previewer over to Borderlands mania!). We also interviewed the game designer and found out more about the game’s development, changes, and -- most importantly -- whether or not Claptrap will dab in the third installment.

You can preorder Borderlands 3 for PS4 and Xbox One. The title will also come to Google Stadia at a later date.
