Borderlands 3 Kicks Off New Revenge of the Cartels Event Today
Borderlands 3 is back with another seasonal event. This one sees you fighting off a cartel as you seek to score new loot and save Maurice. In that order.
Borderlands 3 fans looking for new content to blast through are in luck. Developer Gearbox Studios is kicking off a brand new seasonal event called Revenge of the Cartels today. The event lets you snag limited-time loot and rewards while completing fun challenges. It runs from April 23 to June 4, giving you plenty of time to hop in and get to shooting. Give the launch trailer a watch below.
As with previous Borderlands games, fans are certainly not starving for content with Borderlands 3. The game has already received two big DLC drops, along with several seasonal events like this one. Plus, earlier this month, the crew teamed up with real-life scientists to let Borderlands players help with real-world butt science. Very exciting times. And Revenge of the Cartels seems to continue that trend of high-quality post-launch content. The six-week event looks to have tons to do with quite a bit of variety.
The basic premise is that three different gangs from the Eridium Cartel have infiltrated the galaxy. Your friend Maurice has found himself mixed up with the wrong crowd and he’s now indebted to the Cartel’s kingpin. To get him out, you’ll have to get out and start murdering those evil-doers. What makes it a bit more fun is that each gang has their own pool of legendary loot. So, when you go to their base, a different gang will have control each time. It injects a little variety into your challenge-completing grind.
Borderlands 3 is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. There is a ton to do between the base game, the campaign add-ons, and this seasonal event. If you haven’t hopped in yet, now might be the perfect time to do so.
