Borderlands 3 has been a big commercial success for Gearbox Studios. The game sold truckloads of copies in its first few days on store shelves. And the team has steadily been following that up with a free, post-launch content drip feed that's helped keep players interested. On the latest episode of The Borderlands Show, the studio pulled back the current on the next package of content. The Takedown at Maliwan's Blacksite will task players with taking on one of the gun manufacturer's most heavily-guarded facilities.

Unlike seasonal events, these new Takedowns are permanent additions to the game. The only requirement is to finish the main campaign; however, Gearbox stressed that you might want to load up on full Legendary loot before trying to tackle these challenges. These Takedowns are geared around you having a squad of four, high-level Vault hunters, so don't expect to waltz through on your own. Of course, public matchmaking will be available, so if you don't have a team you run with, you'll still be able to fight through the content.

Maliwan Blacksite features an all-new map and three bosses to take down. Importantly, there will be exclusive loot to the Takedown. Vault Hunters can find some of the best shields in the game and new cosmetics as they mow down Maliwan soldiers. The mode will take about 30-45 minutes to complete, so don't expect to hop in-and-out too quickly. Hopefully, these are bigger and better versions of the Borderlands 2 raid bosses. Those were always fun to take on with a team, and fleshing them out seems like a great idea.

Borderlands 3 is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The Takedown at Maliwan's Blacksite will come into the game on November 21. Gearbox is also currently running a Shift code promotion to get some spooky character heads for Halloween. If that's something you're into, make sure you check out the Maliwan Blacksite info page for full details.
