Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition is Free to Play This Weekend for Xbox Live Gold Members

Now is your time to finally play the original Borderlands if you haven't before.

For those that have never played a Borderlands game, now is a perfect time to jump in.

Xbox announced today that Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition is getting free days of play starting today. Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition is the remaster of the original Borderlands which released earlier this year. I reviewed the game and found it to be a remaster that one should expect.

With the imminent release of Borderlands 3 now is the time to jump into the series if you have yet to. Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel are also available on Xbox Game Pass. So if you were to beat Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition or purchase it while it is on sale for $14.99 over the weekend, assuming you enjoy it, you would have access to main three games.

Tales from the Borderlands was unfortunately delisted earlier this year due to Telltale shutting down so the only way you will be able to play it if you don’t already have the game downloaded to your system is if you buy it physically.

As a huge fan of the franchise, Borderlands is a series you need to play. It gives you numerous options to play and who to play in each entry. Now is the time to get into the franchise if you are looking forward to Borderlands 3 and you want to understand the story. We also played the newest installment at E3 last month and found it still be the king of the looter shooter genre.

Borderlands 3 is set to release September 13 on Xbox One, PS4, and PC exclusively on the Epic Games Store. The game will also release on Google Stadia at a later date. You can pre-order it on Amazon.
