Developer Gearbox Software has officially dropped a smoking hot teaser trailer called "Mask of Mayhem" ahead of PAX East tomorrow, although they indicate in their Twitter post that more will be revealed at the event. Gearbox has been hinting on something Borderlands related for a while now as we have seen an image of a highway sign standing in what seems to be the middle of a desert and an image showing a disassembled robot or android of some sort lying on an operating table plus another showing a pixelated image of Maya in Borderlands 2.

The "Mask of Mayhem" teaser trailer is artfully created where we see characters such as Sir Hammerlock, Ellie, Claptrap, and many others that fans of the title will recognize and some thrown in that we haven't come across before. The trailer is set in a black and white sequence of events showcasing still character models in different action poses that rotate around each other, but the ending is where it looks fantastic as all the characters form together to create the actual Mask of Mayhem with the video ending with the words "Mayhem is Coming".

Borderlands 2 first launched in 2012 and since then fans of the series have been patiently waiting for the arrival of a sequel which Randy Pitchford confirmed was in development in a Twitter post in April 2016 stating that "Today, here's what you learned: Battleborn art director, Scott Kester, is moving on to next Borderlands project."

All will be revealed at the Gearbox PAX East panel and if you can't attend the event, don't worry as the panel will be live-streamed tomorrow at 2 pm EDT /11 am PDT on Borderlands official website.
