Bored at Work? You Need Grief In Your Life

Once again, the guys over at the Indiegames blog have discovered a gem, a little free indie game called Grief. It’s a 2D platformer with retro graphics, that employs a polarity mechanic; using certain “buttons”, you can freely switch between light (“optimism”) and dark (“pessimism”) worlds to not only alter the layout of a level, but also gain different abilities to access areas you previously could not.

I’ve been playing for a solid 30 minutes, and while the gameplay isn’t anything too new, it’s still charming as all get out, and the atmosphere of the game is just all sorts of wonderful. You can download the game at GameJolt here.

Allen is an utter whore of a gamer; he's completely open-minded to all games, be they AAA blockbusters or $5 casual children's games. His focus is on indie games specifically, valuing gameplay and ingenuity over sparkly visuals and ridiculous gimmicks. When he's not geeking out over the newest art game, he's out toning his sexy, sculpted shoulders while surfing epic 1.5ft waves, or having a good time with local, high-gravity microbrews.
