Talented artist AutomaticGiraffe combined Breath of the Wild's Zelda with Elden Ring's Malenia in a powerful crossover depicting female power!

Since Elden Ring released in February 2022, action RPG fans have been drawing comparisons to Nintendo's Breath of the Wild. Though the two games couldn't be more different in visual aesthetic or mood, they both boast extensive explorable worlds and towering bosses. It's only natural, then, that fans have begun to create their own versions of a Breath of the Wild/Elden Ring crossover.

Artist AutomaticGiraffe (@AutoGiraffe on Twitter) is one of those fans, transforming BotW's Princess Zelda into a powerful Malenia-inspired warrior!

ARTIST AUTOMATICGIRAFFE'S ZELDA + ELDEN RING CROSSOVER

Originally posted to Twitter on April 21st, AutomaticGiraffe's fan art went viral and spread to the r/gaming subreddit as well. Dubbed by Redditors as "Zelden Ring," AutomaticGiraffe turns Princess Zelda into Zelda, Blade of Hylia.

Now taking inspiration from none other than Elden Ring's Malenia, Blade of Miquella, AutomaticGiraffe gave Zelda a FromSoftware makeover. Armed with a massive sword and winged helmet akin to Malenia, Zelda becomes a powerful warrior worthy of taking on Radahn.

Overall, Malenia has become well-known for being one of FromSoftware's most difficult bosses. Her healing ability combined with punishing attacks leaves little to no openings, making for an incredibly difficult fight. While Princess Zelda doesn't old quite the same reputation, she is a powerful ruler in her own right.

Additionally, the strong highlight adds a sense of regalness, capturing both Zelda's royal status and Malenia's strength. Seeing the two together, it seems only natural that they're combined - both are figures tied to the destinies of their worlds, matched up against another rival ruler.

Lastly, Elden Ring is available to play on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. However, if Breath of the Wild is more your style, check it out on Nintendo Switch!
