According to a brand new message from the official Bravely Default Twitter account, more information about Bravely Default 2 will be forthcoming in the near future. The account asks fans to wait for said information:

This is especially great news as recently it was revealed that the title has entered the final stages of its development, also according to the official Japanese Twitter account. However, there was some negative news that came with this as fans of the mobile entry of the series, Bravely Default Fairy's Effect, was told that service would end on August 31th of this year.

Franchise Producer Tomoya Asano and returning composer Revo previously delved into the latest installment in the series between Twitter and Nintendo’s official Japanese site and how much they looked forward to said entry.

Famitsu published an interview with the Producers Tomoya Asano and Masashi Takahashi, a duo who previously worked together on the Bravely Series and on Octopath Traveler. The interview focuses on how past games of these series influenced its development. "Before explaining more about Bravely Default 2's name in this interview, I’d like to apologize to the fans about Bravely Second. There were parts of that game that didn’t meet the many expectations fans had. The development team deeply reflected on Bravely Second's problems and it showed in all our following projects. After that they explain how this influenced the development of Octopath Traveler, and then the success of Fairy's Effect gave the team the tailwind they needed to make an entirely new title.

You can read up on our impressions of the demo here. If you’re curious to see how the previous games hold up, check out both my reviews of Bravely Default and Bravely Second: End Layer here and here. Bravely Default 2 will be coming to Nintendo Switch sometime in 2020.
