Check Out the Breath of the Wild Crew Drawn in the Art Style From Link’s Awakening
This might be what the crew from Breath of the Wild would look like if the game had the same art style as Link's Awakening.
I will use anything as an excuse to write about Breath of the Wild and this drawing is the perfect excuse on this beautiful Saturday morning. I have always wondered what other Zelda titles would look like if they had the same art direction and system requirements of other consoles. It is why I thought this rendition of the Breath of the Wild 2 trailer that was made to look like an N64 title was so cool. This time around, this drawing captured what Link and his fellow champions would look like if the game featured the same art style from the recent Link’s Awakening remake.
The drawing comes from @ssalrobyul over on Twitter. You can take a look at the drawing in the embedded tweet below.

Now, of course, if you were to apply the art style of Link’s Awakening to every game, the overall cuteness levels would dramatically increase. However, I was not prepared for this one. Everyone looks so tiny and pudgy. It makes me really want to see how the game would actually turn out if it was to be created in the same top-down style. I am sure the scope and overall openness of the game would massively take a hit since the main gimmick of the game is that if you can see it, you can go to it. But, Nintendo did experiment with the design of the game by experimenting with the first Legend of Zelda title. So, a man can dream, right?
