Earlier this year, Double Fine made good on its previously-funded Kickstarter campaign by releasing the first act of Broken Age, a well-received adventure title that was developed for release in two acts – though the wait has been long for the game’s second part, the developer has confirmed the wait for the game’s conclusion shouldn’t be too much longer.
In the forums for Broken Age on Double Fine’s website, the studio confirmed that the release date for Act II of Broken Age, originally intended to release by the end of 2014, will instead be looking at a release in early 2015, according to Double Fine producer Greg Rice.
Rice detailed in a post through the official Broken Age forums:
“The goal now is to get all the finale work done so we can hit Alpha on all of Act 2 by the end of the year. That means, as you may have guessed based on recent updates and documentary episodes, the Act 2 ship that will deliver the complete adventure is now looking like it will be early next year.
“The game is looking really good and the team is working super fast, but we just gotta give the game the time it needs to really deliver on everything we’re hoping it will be.”
Broken Age is available on PC, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android, and Ouya – Act I is currently available now, with Act II set to release in early 2015.
