Bugsnax Gets Wild and Weird Gameplay Footage at PlayStation State of Play
Young Horses' Bugsnax is more than just a catchy theme song, as State of Play showed new gameplay footage for the PS5 title.
If you haven’t been able to get its theme song out of your head, Bugsnax is here to stay. The upcoming family-friendly title, which was revealed this summer as one of the PS5’s launch titles later this year, has made a big splash with its charming world and quirky premise, and now we have a closer look at its equally quirky gameplay.
During Sony’s latest State of Play presentation, a new gameplay trailer was shown for Bugsnax, the upcoming title that made a big impression from the PS5 reveal event this past June. While the game’s theme song caught on big across the internet, we didn’t know a ton about how the game actually plays, but the new trailer showcased what exactly you’ll be doing in the title.
As we saw in the gameplay trailer, Bugsnax has players taking on the role of a journalist creature trying to capture photos and catalogue the game’s titular Bugsnax, a collection of edible creatures. The trailer also showcased that it will be played from a first-person perspective, while highlighting the ability to take photos and use other tools like a slingshot to interact with and capture the various Bugsnax.
Coming from Young Horses, the developers behind Octodad: Dadliest Catch, it’s clear that Bugsnax will definitely have its own unique charm and humor to it. The studio also highlighted a few of the games that inspired its creation such as Pokemon Snap and Viva Pinata, and the gameplay definitely reflects that.
Bugsnax is heading to PS5, PS4, and PC in holiday 2020.
