Get stoked for Destiny’s Valentines Day (erm… week) event, “Crimson Days.” First announced last week’s Bungie update, Crimson Days is the first-ever Destiny romantic event, bringing with it a new PvP mode, bounties, and “sweet” Valentines themed loot.
The new PvP mode, Crimson Doubles, will be a 2v2 Elimination mode — the first pair to win five rounds win. In order to partake, you need to be in a Fireteam with another person. Lord Shaxx will be holding some new bounties and a new quest for you to partake in while you fight side by side.
New to PvP mode is the “Broken Heart” buff included in Crimson Doubles. When your teammate dies in a round of Crimson Doubles, you will become enraged, allowing for faster draws and recovery. On top of that, the buff lasts until either you die, you revive your teammate, or you win the match.
Through completing Shaxx’s “Crimson Bonds” questline, players will be able to get the “Crimson Days Emblem. Meanwhile, Crimson Doubles will reward couples with new Shaders and Ghost Shells (at up to 320 light). Lastly, a new consumable “Crimson Candy” gives 30 minute boosts to experience gains on all equipped weapons for members in a Fireteam.
The final update is new set of Eververse Emotes that range from (what seems like) Hotline Bling to couple celebrations. Crimson Days will be available to all Destiny: The Taken King players beginning February 9, 2016 and lasting until February 16.
