Bungie Set to Address Loot Systems and Rewards in Destiny’s House of Wolves Expansion; Says Mistakes “Will Not Be Repeated”
After releasing in September of last year, Destiny has easily been one of the most polarizing new releases for the current generation of consoles with its multiplayer-oriented reward and loot system, with Bungie set to take on a different approach this time following mixed reception for the game’s first expansion, “The Dark Below.”
Speaking on NeoGAF, Bungie developer Luke Smith addressed fan questions regarding the second expansion for Destiny, titled “House of Wolves,” where Smith assured that “mistakes we made with the DLC1 (The Dark Below) reward economy will not be repeated” with the game’s second expansion.
In further comments on NeoGAF, Smith also mentioned that while the studio does not have anything “specific to announce at this time,” he did mention that instances like “vendor gear invalidating the effort of VOG Raiders” and upgrading Exotics that will reset a weapon/armor’s talents will not be present in the next expansion, along with tweaking reward drops and loot to provide a more streamlined and rewarding experience.
Destiny is currently available on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, and Xbox 360 – the game’s second expansion, “House of Wolves,” is currently in development for release in 2015.
