As is standard in Pokemon GO, a brand new event means a range of brand new Raid Bosses.

This time out, as part of Luminous Legends Y, the likes of Yveltal, Galarian Weezing and Cacturne have joined Raids.

Cacturne is a Pokemon that vary rarely gets the spotlight, so it's left players wondering how best to take it down.

With that in mind, here is every Cacturne weakness in Pokemon GO as well as the best counters to exploit those weaknesses.

Every Cacturne Weakness in Pokemon GO

Cacturne has a dual-typing on Grass and Dark and therefore, has one of the highest number of weaknesses in the game.

Its type combination means that no fewer than seven different types are super effective against it.

These include Bug (x4), Fairy, Fighting, Fire, Flying, Ice and Poison-type moves.

Alongside these though, Cacturne does also resist a further seven types. They are Dark, Electric, Ghost, Grass, Ground, Psychic (X4) and Water.

Best Counters for Cacturne

As you can imagine, Cacturne's 4x weakness to Bug-type moves is the only place to start.

The list of Pokemon you want to consider is pretty extensive: Genesect, Escavalier, Pinsir, Yanmega, Heracross, Scizor, Scoliopede, Accelgor and Durant are the top choices.

Effectively, if it's a Bug-type Pokemon with Bug-type moves, you should be okay, maximising that STAB damage.

Outside of these, there's one Bug-type Mega Pokemon to consider, Mega Beedrill, as well as one non-Bug-type Mega, Mega Charizard.

The best movesets for the above Pokemon are as follows:

  • Mega Beedrill - Bug Bite/X-Scissor
  • Mega Charizard - Fire Spin/Blast Burn
  • Genesect - Fury Cutter/X-Scissor
  • Escavalier - Bug Bite/Mega Horn
  • Pinsir - Fury Cutter/X-Scissor
  • Yanmega - Bug Bite/Bug Buzz
  • Heracross - Struggle Bug/Mega Horn
  • Scizor - Fury Cutter/X-Scissor
  • Scoliopede - Bug Bite/Mega Horn
  • Accelgor - Infestation/Bug Buzz
  • Durant - Bug Bite/X-Scissor

As you can imagine, a combination of any of the above Pokemon should make Cacturne a relatively easy solo.
