Today, Japanese game developer FuRyu announced that a complete remake of The Caligula Effect will be released on PS4. The new title will be called Caligula Overdose. As of right now, the game is only slated for Japan on May 17th, 2018. There's currently no word on whether or not the game will be making its way overseas to North America or Europe.

The Caligula Effect was originally released on PS Vita last year in Japan. Atlus published it in North America and Europe earlier this year. Our very own Azario Lopez got the chance to review the game, & while it seemed like a solid title, there were definitely improvements that could be made.

Firstly, the graphics are going to be completely redone in Unreal Engine 4. The game's user interface will also be receiving some changes in the new version. Alongside all of that, a ton of new story content is coming to the game. Two new party members, as well as two new villains, will be making their debut in Caligula Overdose. The original story will be reworked to incorporate all of the new characters, as well as a female protagonist.
