If you thought that Call of Duty was just popular over here in the west, then you'd be wrong.

Last week's release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 was last week's best-selling game in Japan, topping the charts and selling 228,775 units. For a region the size of Japan, those numbers are pretty impressive, especially for a western release. For reference, Black Ops 4 has sold nearly as many copies as Marvel's Spider-Man has in its lifetime in Japan since releasing last month, coming in only around 60,000 copies short.

Super Mario Party ended up coming in second for the week with Assassin's Creed Odyssey coming in third. Rounding out the top five as Warriors Orochi 4 in fourth with Minecraft for Switch coming in at fifth.
