Last month, Bungie surprised (and delighted) fans with the news that Destiny would be cross-buy enabled between last-gen and current-gen versions of the game, and with the next Call of Duty title heading to stores this fall, it appears Activision may be doing the same for Sony’s console owners.
Activision confirmed over on its official site that Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will be cross-buy enabled between last-gen and current-gen consoles, allowing those that purchase either version of the game to receive a digital copy of the other version on the previous system, as long as they remain in the same console family (Xbox One > Xbox 360, PS4 > PS3, etc.).
In addition to Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare itself, the game’s DLC and add-on content will also carry over through Cross-Buy, allowing map packs and other content to be transferred over to the other console.
The Cross-Buy promotion will be offered until March 31st, 2015, and is available both to those picking up the game in stores during launch, and will also be extended to those that have already pre-ordered the game on any of the valid platforms.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare releases for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC on November 4th, 2014.
