Reddit User soja92 posted on Reddit about Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's multiplayer mode running at a smooth 62 Hz refresh rate on both PC and PS4, in the United States at least. This comes after Treyarch faced criticism for servers running with rather poor refresh rates in order to compensate for Blackout.

These numbers seem to be consistent in the United States as well as other parts of Europe, according to Redditor soja92. With that being said, these refresh rates do not reflect what everyone will be seeing in multiplayer. For example, Australia players are still experiencing multiplayer with 20 Hz refresh rates, according to the Reddit user.

With all of that being said, the 62 Hz refresh rate is only being seen in the multiplayer modes, not for the Blackout game mode. For the battle royale mode, soja92 says that Blackout is still running at 20 Hz refresh rate. Though one could assume that Treyarch is diligently working on upping the refresh rate on that mode, we will just have to wait patiently and wait for further announcements from the studio.

However, take all of these findings with a grain of salt as they are unofficial releases and not from Treyarch or Activision. We have reached out to them for comment.

Either way, these refresh rate improvements have us excited for the future of the title. With such fast-paced action, it seems these refresh rate improvements for the game seem almost necessary to keep up. If you haven't already, you can pick up Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 on Amazon.
