Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Update Adds Bowie Knife and Two New Maps, Safeguard Playlist Arrives for PS4
Two new maps, some PS4 content, and more in the latest Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 update.
Treyarch Studios has officially launched their patch notes for the latest Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 update that launched today. The update sees various fixes arriving as well as two new maps that we heard about earlier this month.
Players across all platforms will now be able to get boots on the ground in two multiplayer maps called “Seaside Sunset”, and “Firing Range Night.” They’ll also be able to play Hardcore Nuketown, Chaos Hardpoint, and Mercenary Objective Moshpit. Those who play Blackout will now be able to get a Bowie Knife which is available in Equipment Stashes and also as Zombie-related drops. The knife can reward the player with some stealthy one-hit kills.
Those playing Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 on the PS4 will now have access to some updates other platforms don’t have access too. In Multiplayer, a new Safeguard playlist makes its debut, finding both teams escorting their team’s robot to enemy territory while also defending their own territory. For Blackout players, there are now Zombies Origins character missions that enable players to unlock Dempsey, Nikolai, Takeo, and Richtofen. Additionally, the Blightfather event has returned but with reduced Blightfather health in Solos and Duos.
Not much is being changed with the Zombies game mode except for some stability updates and fixes, although players have been told to stay tuned for future additional improvements and additions in the coming weeks.
The full list of changes that have been applied to the title through this update can be found over on the official Reddit page.
The last hotfix we reported on was November 21 which introduced an auto-mantling option, gesture fixes, and more. If you’re a fan of keeping up-to-date on your progress, the new Call of Duty Companion App is available.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is available for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
